Patrick Ryan is the Founder and Managing Consultant of ājīva.
Patrick
was born and raised in Dublin and has lived for extended periods in
London, Amsterdam and Los Angeles before resettling in Amsterdam with
his family in early 2006. Over the past 20 years, Patrick has worked for KPMG in Dublin; Skynet, an early offshore venture, in Dublin and London; the ABN Amro Bank in Amsterdam, Hong Kong and Cologne; Mattel Toys in Amsterdam and Los Angeles; and Wipro Technologies in Europe. Patrick has led projects and built and managed teams in 20+ countries in the developed and developing world.
Patrick
has a dynamic background as a Fortune 500 management executive with a
sharp commercial focus, excellent business alignment and communication
skills and a sound business-value driven interest in (re-) organizing
and leading diverse, globally distributed service organizations. Patrick
has significant expertise in developing and managing multicultural
teams, distributed projects and international business applications.
Patrick has a particularly strong FMCG application solutions background
- in international Finance, Supply Chain, Marketing, Sales and
eBusiness - and has led both in-house "ERP" developments and 3rd party
solutions selections and implementations (CODA and Oracle). An
experienced project manager and quality assurance professional, Patrick
has deep knowledge of ad-hoc and traditionally planned
program, project and quality management methodologies (Prince II, CMMI,
ITIL) as well as more flexible Critical Chain, Lean and Agile
methodologies.
Patrick
also has many years front-line experience in global delivery
management, utilizing a mix of in-house, outsourced and offshored (3rd
party in India and captive in China) services; Shared Service Centre
set-up and management; and IT consulting services business development.
Patrick studied computer science at night in Trinity College Dublin in the 80s and received his MBA from IESE Business School
in 2002. IESE is one of Europe's top business schools (recently ranked
global #1 by the Economist Intelligence Unit) and Patrick graduated
from IESE's premier MBA program, the Global Executive MBA,
a general management MBA for mid-career executives split over 7 modules
and 3 locations - Barcelona, Silicon Valley and Shanghai.
Patrick is also engaged in various projects under the ājīva ventures banner and is also a President and co-founder of KYCnet, a leading AML and Customer Due Diligence services company. Patrick is present on LinkedIn and is a member of the "EUROPE - CHINA" and "Offshore Outsourcing" Xing groups.
